Why don’t Pandas hibernate?

Hi Pandas!

Aa-aa-achooo!

Max has a cold… :( He wanted to help Manny, but it’s not easy to pick up the ice blocks from the swimming pool without falling in yourself! We thought of a great plan  – or at least at first it felt like a good one.  Max got in the rubber boat and paddled to the ice blocks.

Clever, right?  Achoo! :(

Well, in the end everything went wrong! :???: When Max stepped into the boat, it sunk a little bit already. So I realized that when he drags one of the heavy blocks of ice into the boat it will sink even more… I was just yelling “Nooooooo!” when he dragged a huge piece of ice onto the side of the boat, and… It started tilting… like Titanic! It capsized and down went Captain Max!

The idea was brilliant… Grrr, if only the ice block hadn’t been that heavy!  Achoo!!

Yeah, yeah, blame it on the heavy ice block… Your heavy bacon breakfasts didn’t have anything to do with it? :D

You know I’m a bear too, and I need to gather some fat to get a nice good sleep for when I start hibernating for the winter.

Hibernating?? Then all of Panfu should be asleep all winter!  Do you know why Panda bears don’t need hibernation? Guess or find out! Please write your answers in the comments! We’ll tip you off tomorrow.

Stay healthy, Pandas
Ella and Maa-aa-x-choo!

P.S. There’s a new ice block in the pool today. You can help Manny build the igloo by giving it to him. But today you’ll have to do it without me! :(

Why don’t pandas hilbernate?Comment on the answer! Here is my suggestion/agreement:

Because India is in the southern hemisphere so it is summer over there and in their winter it is normal summer temparature in the rainforests.
I agree with this comment!

This comment is oficialy posted by tom0512!I have an idea of myself too! Here it is:

Bears are notorious for theirhibernation habits. As most of us learned early in school, bears, as well as several other animal species, undergo this long-term,sleep-like phase to escape from the bitter cold during winter months. And can we blame them? After all, winter can’t be fun when there’s little food and bitterly uncomfortable temperatures. Manysun-loving humans would much rather sleep through the icy, snow-shoveling season and wake to a warm spring. Would you be surprised to learn that, curiously, the giant panda, also called the “panda bear,” abstains from this ancient, protective ritual?

If you’ve read How Hibernation Works, you know that the process can take on a variety of forms. But pandas don’t take part in any kind of hibernation, even under the loosest definitions of the term. It’s not that they don’t like sleep — far from it. Giant pandas sleep for about eight to 12 hours a day. And it’s not that their bodies can take the cold — they actually have relatively little body fat with which to insulate themselves from low temperatures . But, rather, when the weather gets tough, the pandas get going. Instead of burrowing away at the first sign of uncomfortable temperatures, like many bears do, giant pandas simply find a more comfortable place to relax and eat bamboo.

NOTE:All these things are mainly suggestions, agreements and other stuff taken from HowStuffWorks site and Panfu comments,so thank you for the understanding of no copyright or any other toughings.
